2007-08 schedule to feature 12 nationally-televised games
The Los Angeles Clippers start the 2007-08 NBA season at STAPLES Center on Friday, November 2 against their Pacific Division rivals the Golden State Warriors at 7:30 p.m. The Los Angeles Clippers season-opening home stand continues on Sunday, November 4 when they host the Seattle Supersonics and rookie sensation Kevin Durant.
The Los Angeles Clippers open with eight of their first 13 games at STAPLES Center, highlighted by a visit on Sunday, November 11 from LeBron James and the Eastern Conference Champion Cleveland Cavaliers. The defending NBA Champion San Antonio Spurs come to STAPLES Center on Sunday, January 6, and the Los Angeles Clippers host their building rivals the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday, February 23 (NBATV) and Thursday, April 10. The Los Angeles Clippers will be the visiting team against the Lakers on Sunday, December 16 in the first meeting between the teams and on Friday, March 7.
Los Angeles is scheduled for 12 nationally-televised games in 2007-08, appearing on ESPN (4 games), TNT (1 game) and NBATV (7 games).
The Los Angeles Clippers schedule features 19 sets of back-to-back games this season, down from the 21 sets played in 2006-07. From February 1st through February 11th, the Los Angeles Clippers leave town on a seven-game road trip, the longest of the season, with stops in Minnesota, Cleveland, New York, Boston, Toronto, Philadelphia and Milwaukee. The Los Angeles Clippers embark on a five-game road trip from March 10th through March 17th, playing in Miami, Orlando, Atlanta, Washington and Minnesota. Los Angeles also has a four-game road trek scheduled from December 11th through December 16th.
On Saturday, January 12 the Los Angeles Clippers will make STAPLES Center history when they host the Dallas Mavericks at 7:30 p.m., hours after the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings and Dallas Stars will have finished facing off at STAPLES Center. The games mark the first time in the history of STAPLES Center that two visiting teams from the same city have played on the same day in different sports.
Other highlights of the schedule include a visit from Allen Iverson and Carmelo Anthony’s Denver Nuggets on November 21 and April 8, and the revamped Boston Celtics featuring Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce coming to STAPLES Center on February 25.
